Make That Dim Mac Bright Again!
If you own an Apple MacBook (original or Retina versions), Apple MacBook Air or Apple MacBook Pro, and it has a dim screen or a dull screen, you’re probably expecting the worst. Actually, it might not be that bad!
The good news is that if your display isn’t actually cracked or physically damaged, it might not need expensive replacement at all! If you have a dim screen (where you can see the image under bright light, but the screen itself isn’t lit up), it might be a problem with the “inverter”, and not the screen itself. The inverter generates the high voltages needed by the screen- and the good news is that if it’s faulty, it’s much cheaper to replace than the screen itself!
Another common fault is a faulty switch or sensor, where the computer thinks the laptop is closed and turns off the screen to save power. Again, this is much cheaper to fix than a whole screen replacement.
