iPad Mini Repair Process

Here’s another behind-the-scenes look at one of our repairs. This time we’re looking at an iPad Mini with a broken digitizer (i.e. the touch-sensitive glass at the front). Fortunately, unlike the iPhone and some later iPads, this iPad Mini doesn’t have the digitizer bonded to the LCD screen itself- so, since that isn’t broken, we don’t have to replace that as well.

As always, we’ve not shown everything (including some of our secret tips and tricks) and you might be fooled into thinking this is easier than it looks. Remember that our technician has been doing repairs like this almost every day for several years- he knows all the pitfalls!

Done! The new digitizer has been installed. After our usual comprehensive run of checks to make sure that the iPad is now fully working, it is ready to be collected by the customer. (Note the adhesive plastic cover which protects the screen until the customer is able to get it home).
