MacBook Pro Screen Replacement Process

It’s all very well us telling you what we can do, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating! That’s why we’ll be making posts detailing various repairs that we’ve carried out, of which this is the first.

Here you can see an Apple MacBook Pro with a broken display being repaired. Both the front glass and the LCD screen panel itself are damaged here and will have to be replaced.

We may be guilty of having made it look too simple here- but while our technician is very experienced with common repairs such as this, there are always pitfalls for the unwary. For example, easily-damaged components that are barely visible to the naked eye.

This MacBook Pro has suffered damage to both the LCD display and to its glass cover.

The top half of the laptop (including the broken screen) has now been removed.

We remove the broken glass. This must be done carefully to avoid damaging any components around the edge. The heatgun is used here to soften the glue.

The old LCD panel has been removed- now we fit its replacement.

Once the new LCD display has been installed, we fit a replacement glass panel on top of that.

Finished! The new screen has been installed successfully. All that remains is to run our usual tests to verify that the reassembled computer is in perfect working order.
